2021 - Starting a business in the middle of a pandemic... what were we thinking?!?

It has been an exciting journey so far! We opened our farm stand and gift shop in August of 2020 - right in the middle of a pandemic. We started in a tent in front of our home and featured local artists and had produce from our neighbors and friends. We continued to improve on the little shed and as the colder weather came, began to welcome folks into our little farm stand & gift shop all through the winter. We closed for Christmas and spent the month of January adding electric, insulation, sheetrock and new floors. There is still more to be done, but we love our little space.

Over the last few months, we have had many new visitors to our farm. It is a wonderful way to get to know our neighbors and meet new friends from the community every Saturday. I have always wanted to have a gift shop and share my passion for locally made products and locally owned businesses. What I did not expect was the blessing of people and fellowship during this time in our world. We safely get to visit and get to know our neighbors and genuinely love the interaction and fellowship with our community. It has been a little light in our lives and for our visitors as well during this uncertain time.

One of our staples every week are freshly made cinnamon rolls. I don't think I expected how popular they would become, but I am happy to share them and a few other treats each week. Our chickens are happy and laying many eggs for us to share each week, and our vendors (almost 30 now) bring in new items every week to share. This week we will begin planting the garden to supplement the fruit trees that have been in full bloom the last few weeks preparing for cherries, apples and plums.

More updates to come on the inside improvements and more information on our vendors.
